Mi Smart Sensor Set

Hey Mi Fans, now that it's just around the corner, selling this Mi Smart Sensor Set, I'm going to explain you how to install it. Well if you buy this set, it comes preconfigured in the Hub (gateway or switchboard), we only need to install the application Mi Home, but if you ever have to add or reconfigure again also explain.

The first thing we need to do is to install the Mi Home application from the Google shop (it allows us to remotely manage a great variety of Xiaomi ecosystem products and make automations between them).

Once downloaded, you must choose server or region Europe and enter your Mi account, you will be asked for several permissions, grant them.

The first thing we'll get out of the box is the Hub.

We connect the Hub to an electrical outlet, open the Mi Home app.

click on the + sign in the upper left corner.

We have an automatic and a manual form. (It is recommended to have the Bluetooth active to find new devices.), the automatic check if around us finds devices compatible with Mi Home and will show us (only find this set the Hub, since the sensors are linked to the Hub).

The alternative is to do it manually

we didn't put it in the Home Security category and chose Mi Control Hub.You will be asked to reset the Hub by holding down the top button for more than 5 seconds, the Hub should remain flashing with a yellow light.

In the app will ask us to select which wifi will connect (always 2.4 ghz) and ask us for the password, at the end of the process, we will ask for a location in the house (dining room, bedroom, office, etc ....) and a name.

At the end we should see the main screen of Mi home with the Hub, two motion sensors, two window door sensors and a button.

For the installation of the sensors, we have to add them as we did with the hub, but by selecting the sensor we want to add, it will ask us to reset the sensor and it will remain waiting until we reset it and link it to the Hub; all of them have a small orifice that with a card extractor or a pin, we must press it until its blue led shines, then we will hear a voice in the Hub indicating that it has been linked.

When installing the sensors it is not recommended to place them on metal surfaces; the motion sensor has a straight line range of 7 meters and 4 meters on each side, covering an angle of 170 degrees.

The door/window sensor has a notch in the center in each piece, these notches must remain opposite, and with a separation between them, not greater than 3 mm.
